The Asbury University Sales Team finished in s事件h place out of 80 universities around the nation at the 国际 Collegiate Sales Competition 在11月.
Dr. 乔治•艾伦, associate professor of Marketing at Asbury, noted “I always like to point out that we are typically the smallest school competing, so we have a much smaller pool from which to select our sales team. 我们是幸运的, 然而, to start with high quality students like these who work hard, have fun and seek to honor God with their skills.”
Asbury’s team stood out, and Tommy Wegmann’s and Josh Giese’s participation ended in the Wildcard round of the Sales Role Play 事件, and they learned valuable skills and contributed points to Asbury’s scorecard for the team’s overall ranking.
The Sales Management portion of the competition started last spring when Stuart Kirkbride and then Senior Madison Morelock competed in the Sales Management Simulation. Their first-place win narrowed the field from 80 to 32 universities and allowed Asbury to compete in the Sales Management Case Competition with Stuart and Hope Odubena as the Asbury team.
Allen说, “These two Accounting majors quickly became sales management experts and then created and confidently delivered a strong plan for sales technology adoption that won them First Place in Round 1 and Third Place in the overall competition.”
Tommy and Hope also competed in the Speed Selling 事件 where they earned points for our team by delivering a 90-second elevator pitch in which they made the case for four different companies to hire them as an intern.
Allen runs the Center for Professional Selling in Asbury’s Dayton School of Business. The initiative will ultimately be housed in the Collaborative Learning Center and will include a suite of sales role-play rooms where students will hone their sales skills in classes and sales competitions.
